Hey there 👋
I’m Daniel Ketel, welcome to my little wonderland. I am mainly documenting my ideas regarding my hobbies and attempts to organize my chaotic life. Most of the things I keep in here did blow my mind in a way when I’ve learned them. Maybe they will blow your mind, too, or at least help you in a situation. I definitely came to love most of the things I’m writing about here. I decided to share them here on this page, since maybe there’s some takeaway for one or the other out there, .

IT is where I’ll mainly write about my hobbies like IT and tech things. You’ll find articles about TrueNAS SCALE (check iXsystems’ TrueNAS SCALE page), Virtualization and other Linux and networking topics. Articles about and tutorials for different programming languages will pop up every now and then.
Tech and making things is something that amazes me to this day. This includes everything from microcontrollers over 3d printing to cobbling together more or less useful devices. In this category I also keep my 3d models, schematics and code for non-in projects.
Family management. With my wife also working full time, managing a family with three kids is quite a task. With the right tools and techniques it still isn’t a walk in the park, but it helps a lot. This section will cover things we’ve tried or are using to this day to keep up with our family life. I’ll also tab down on things in this category we use to keep our kids entertained. So toys or playsets might pop up in here, too.
Organization holds all my attempts and approaches on optimizing my work and life and ideas I’ve employed to be more productive. Having such an incredible family is an amazing thing and I love it. But, private time or nowdays called “me-time”, where you can actually do things you love on your own, is incredibly valuable and not too abundant anymore. Therefore I always am trying to optimize and want to get as much doing squeezed in as little time as possible.
